La Courtine, 2025
La Courtine is a portrait of two young men
living in a remote countryside — Alexis and Fabrice,
childhood friends of mine.
Surrounded by vast fields and nearly empty houses,
they live in a state of suspended solitude and freedom.
They spend their time as they wish,
moving between boredom and intimacy.
I act as an active observer
of the emotional bonds that tie them together.
The images are soft and restrained,
their muted tones evoking silence and distance.
Time unfolds slowly, in rhythm with the seasons,
far from the noise of cities.
The project reflects on the balance between
isolation and freedom in rural life,
and contrasts it with the overwhelming saturation of urban existence.
